Within Vienna, the conference venue (Main Building of TU Wien, Karlsplatz 13, 1040 Wien) can be easily reached by public means of transport (underground lines U1, U4; tramway lines D, J, 1, 2, 62, 65; and bus lines 4A, 59A).
From the Airport
By train „Schnellbahn – S7“ – Trains run at intervals of 30 minutes; the ride to the train station (“Wien Mitte/Landstraße”, connections to U3, U4) takes approx. 25 minutes.
InterCity & Railjet – Trains run at intervals of approx. 30 minutes; stops at train station “Wien Hauptbahnhof” (connection to U1, 20 minutes) or “Wien Meidling” ( connection to U6, 30 minutes)
By CAT (City Airport Train) – Trains also run at intervals of 30 minutes; the ride to the train station (“Wien Mitte/Landstraße”, connections to U3, U4) takes only 16 minutes.
By bus – Buses VAL 1 run at intervals of 60 minutes in front of the arrivals’ area of the airport: the ride to station “Wien Hauptbahnhof” (connections to U1) takes approx. 25 minutes.
By taxi – the ride takes approx. 20 minutes.
From Railway Station “Wien Meidling / Philadelphiabrücke”
Take underground U6 (direction Floridsdorf) to station “Längenfeldgasse”. There, switch to underground U4 (direction Heiligenstadt) to station “Karlsplatz”.
From Railway Station “Wien Westbahnhof”
Take underground U3 (direction Simmering) to station “Stephansplatz”. There, switch to underground U1 (direction Oberlaa) to station “Karlsplatz”.
From Railway Station “Wien Hauptbahnhof”
Take underground U1 (direction Leopoldau) to station “Karlsplatz”.
By Car
The meeting venue is near the main transit route through Vienna. However, parking in the central areas of Vienna is limited to 1½ – 2 hours, and parking vouchers, available at tobacconists (“Trafik”), are required.
